Careers and Higher Education Advice
The Head of Sixth Form co-ordinates an experienced team of tutors who provide girls with individual guidance regarding Higher Education choices.
Girls are exceptionally well supported throughout the UCAS process and consequently every year our girls are remarkably successful in receiving offers on the most competitive courses and the most prestigious institutions, with 92% achieving their first choice of subject and institution.
Careers education is of great importance, and girls are clearly guided before making option choices. Careers profiling is offered if you would like to take up this service for your daughter. The School has a dedicated Head of Careers and Work Experience, Mrs Isherwood, who organises careers talks, visits to conferences and a biennial Careers Convention.
The programme of work experience and individual consultations with the Head of Careers enable girls to develop their future plans; parents are closely involved and are invited to a Higher Education Forum in Year 12. Work experience placements are many and varied and RMS works closely with employers of choice to offer internship opportunities which may lead to funding through university and employment thereafter.
We also work closely with former students and parents and other members of the RMS community to create professional networks to support all our leavers as they move forward to seek employment.
