Each year group is divided into tutor groups.
Year 7 tutors form a specialist team of staff with particular experience in working with the youngest members of the Senior Department. Indeed, all staff are asked to express a preference in terms of tutoring so that we have teachers working with their preferred age groups. The Form Tutor is the first port of call for a girl or parent with a concern. The Form Tutor meets with the girls twice daily and the group has an extended form period once a week.
In Years 7 - 11, the Head of Year leads a team of dedicated form tutors in their pastoral care of the girls, offering strong leadership and guidance to the girls. Heads of Year offer pastoral support and have a great impact on the ethos of the year group through regular meetings with girls as individuals, groups and through fortnightly assemblies. Heads of Year liaise closely with Housemistresses regarding the welfare of boarders and Mrs Bomford, Senior Teacher (Pastoral) attends weekly Housemistress' meetings.
Heads of Year meet weekly with the Senior Teacher (Pastoral), to discuss individual girls and agree action. Mrs Bomford meets weekly with the Headmistress who is made personally aware of pastoral issues within school.
All members of the Senior Leadership Team work with an open door policy and girls often choose to chat informally to a senior member of staff , including the Headmaster.
I am impressed by the dedication and support from teachers, helping my daughter meet her achievements in areas she enjoys most. Parent
